Colmar, France (our 2024 Trip)
Our 2024 trip included: France, Germany, Portugal, Poland and Switzerland. In France, we spent time in the Alsace region, which included a number of different cities, towns and villages. In Germany, we were in Regensburg. In Portugal, we were in Porto and Coimbra. In Poland, we were in Poznan and Warsaw. In Switzerland we were in Zurich. This was our first trip in a long, long time that we traveled in the summer time. Our pervious trips were all during shoulder season (April-May or Sept-Oct). For this trip we originally planned to go from France to Germany, then we were going to go to Romania, then Turkey and Greece, BUT the weather was going to be so hot in those areas we made a real time decision and changed all our plans.
Note: Starting with our trip in 2015, we planned on doing a long international trip every year, but due to the 2020 pandemic and some health issues we had to constantly replan, delay and cancel trips. Finally in 2024 we were able to get started with our trips again and hope get back on track doing a long international trip every year. For 2025 we are planning a trip to Portugal, Spain, France and England. Since we are limited to summer travel, we are taking a different approach. We are going to rent a car in Lisbon and then drive along the Atlantic coast into north western Spain, then we are going to the northern coast of France and then England. Normally we travel throughout Europe mostly on trains, but due to the summer heat we experienced during our 2024 trip, we are going to stick to what will hopefully be nice cool areas.
Mdina, Malta (our 2019 Trip)
Our 2019 trip included: Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Malta, and France. In the Czech Republic, we spent time in Prague and Kutna Hora. In Hungary, we were in Budapest. In Austria, we were in Salzburg. In Germany, we were in Munich and then we also spent time in Rothenburg ob der Tauber. In Malta, we visited many different little cities/towns and in France, we were in Paris. Angkor Thom, Cambodia (our 2018 Trip)
Our 2018 included: Singapore, Cambodia and Vietnam. We were very lucky to see many different places and cultures, but the Angkor Archaeological park was probably the highlight. Most people have heard of Angkor Wat, but there are so many more temples, monuments and other sites to visit in the park. The Angkor Archaeological park contains the remains from the Khmer Empire of the 9th to 15th centuries, which includes the largest pre-industrial city in the world.
Riga, Latvia (our 2016 Trip)
Our 2016 included: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Denmark, Scotland, Ireland and Germany. The Baltics are amazing. The people are very warm, accepting and gracious. The food is fresh, beautifully prepared and very reasonably priced. The old towns of Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius are wonderful. Machu Picchu, Peru (our 2017 trip)
Our 2017 trip included: Colombia, Peru and Ecuador. Seeing Machu Picchu was the highlight of the trip, but there were a lot of other great places we got to see and experience on this trip. Click on "Read More" below to see additional pictures from our 2017 trip.
Tangier, Morocco (our 2015 trip)

Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic (2013)
Our 2013 trip included: Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary and Croatia. About 3 hours south of Prague is the amazing little city of Cesky Krumlov. Cinque Terre, Italy (our 2007 trip)
During our 2007 trip we visited England, France, Switzerland and Italy. Cinque Terre is 5 small fishing villages connected by cliff side tails. It's awesome. Highly recommended. 5 stars. 2 thumbs up. Our Upcoming 2020 Trip
We are planning a pretty long trip in 2020, about 5 weeks, with about 2 of those weeks being on the Tour Mount Blanc (TMB) hike around Mt. Blanc in France, Italy, and Switzerland. The hike is about 110 miles with about 30,000 feet of altitude gain and 30,000 feet of altitude loss. During the hike, we will be staying in different refuges along the way. The rest of the trip will be traveling to different countries/cities through the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, France, Portugal, and England.

COVID-19 update (March 23rd, 2020): we are probably canceling our trip in July 2020, which includes the TMB hike due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Depending on how things go the next couple of months we might try and get in some sort of Europe trip in September/October. We have a flight to Europe that we will have to use due to canceling the July trip. I HOPE EVERYONE STAYS SAFE AND HEALTHY DURING THESE DIFFICULT TIMES.
